Xbox LIVE Update - Twitter, Facebook, Last.fm, Zune, Inside Xbox News & More

As I promised, I will keep you guys updated about this new Xbox LIVE Update coming this autumn.
With this update you should be able to use Twitter, Facebook, Last.fm and Zune on your Xbox360. Also their should come an "Inside Xbox News & More" section.
I am currently beta-testing this update.

Click on "Tell me more!" to read more about my experience...

Zune video

"Zune video brings movies and TV shows with instant on HD in full 1080p to your Xbox 360 console."

Plus-points
  •  You can rent movies directly on your Xbox360:
A movie in standard definition will cost around 330 Points
A movie in high definition will cost around 490 Points
Older movies are mostly only available in standard definition and will cost around 240 Points
  • You can create a Party with friends:
This way you can all watch a movie together... at your own house
  • There are Independent movie channels:
    GamerTV (not avaiable yet)
    Web-video's (not avaiable yet)
Probably these video's are free, but since it's still not available in beta-testing, I can't say this for sure.

Drawbacks
  •  Nothing that I am aware of...
If you know a drawback for Zune, please let me know by responding to this article.

Twitter
"Stay in the know by discovering, posting, and replying to Tweets right on your Xbox 360."

Plus-points
  • Easy log-in
But you need to create a account on your PC
  • Retweet from XBOX
Instantly copies the original message to your input field
  • More tweets about Xbox
Probably more and more people will now tweet about their Xbox experience

Drawbacks
  • Very basic, nothing new...
Not really know if this is a drawback, but they could have done something new...
  • Requires adult Xbox LIVE Gold account.
So probably not available for everyone...
  • Fixed lay-out
Well... let's just say this Twitter add-on is still a little too basic... but it's very cool :)

Last.fm
"Turn your Xbox 360 into your living room juke box with a library of more than 3.5 millions songs."

Plus-points
  • Making your Xbox360 a Media Center
Streaming music from the best music bands in the world!
  • Create an account directly on your Xbox360
No need to start up your PC.
  • Probably more plus-points, but I couldn't test it
    See Drawbacks below

Drawbacks
  • Not available worldwide.
Only available when your account is registered in the UK or US and you really live there. No access for a Dutch-guy like me...

Facebook
"Now you can compare your Xbox LIVE and Facebook friends lists, update your status to share what movie, game or entertainment you’re enjoying, find friends and view their news feeds, status and photos on the big screen – all seamlessly integrated and custom-built for Xbox 360."

Plus-points
  • Watch photo's of your friends
    In full-screen mode.
  • Make even more friends
See if there are Xbox friends on Facebook
See if there are Facebook friends on XBox

Drawbacks
  • Requires adult Xbox LIVE Gold account.
So probably not available for everyone...
  • Feels "lagging"
No smooth transitions (but probably they will fix this)
  • No clear News Feed
It just doens't give you a nice overview of all your friends
  • You can't upload photo's or screenshots
This would be a cool feature, considering the Xbox Live Vision Camera
Inside Xbox News & More
"A new section of the “Inside Xbox” channel, “News and More” transforms Xbox LIVE into a full-fledged media portal."

Plus-points
  • Access to Msnbc.com from your Xbox360
    Reading and watching the news
  • Reading The New Yorker Cartoons
    Cartoons are funny, right?
  • Laughing with Dilbert
    Got to love this guy...

Drawbacks
  • Available in U.S. only.
